Boats in Brindisi

Brindisi is an important city south of Italy, offering a strategic natural port for multi-day tours in Puglia and the Adriatic Coast. Before you begin your boat tours in Brindisi, the city has a legacy of sights with thousands of years of history that you can enjoy visiting. Brindisi became part of the kingdom of Naples and later served as the capital of Italy for almost 6 months. In the centuries following this period of great glory, Brindisi was conquered by the Goths, the Byzantines, and was then subjugated by the Normans and Aragonese. Today, in the vibrant historic center of the city, you can see archeological artifacts and Romanesque churches that are enclosed by Aragonese walls. The Rotunda of the Templar and the church of San Benedetto are some examples that date back to the 15th century. You will find a majority of shops and people in the tree-lined boulevard, known as the Corso Garibaldi, that runs through the city.

When you reach the water’s edge, you can join the Lungomare Regina Margherita, a beautiful promenade flanked by ships that depart from the port. Together with the Roman columns, the Italian Sailor Monument stands over 50 m tall and is visible before entering the port. Both the columns and the monument are considered to be symbols of the city and project a memory of the fallen sailors who served during the world wars. By continuing to arc in the long inner piers, you can rent a boat in Brindisi and cruise the gentle waves of the Adriatic Sea for a trip to remember.

A private boat tour in Brindisi will allow you to take in the magnificent scenery that stretches all the way to Bari. You can board your boat in the harbor by the fishing harbor of Monopoli and end your tour by exploring the sea caves near Polignano a Mare. The seaside towns of Cisternino and Ostuni are also wonderful stops along the coast. Some great beaches you can include in your multi-day tours in Puglia are Torre Guaceto Beach and Costa Merlata Beach. Both these beaches have several secluded bays and attract plenty of tourists during the summer.

An alternative day tour in Puglia would be to explore the coastline that extends towards Otranto. With your selected motor yacht, catamaran, or sailboat, you can depart from Brindisi and stop by the beautiful seaside towns along the coast. Approaching the town of Lecce and Torre Rinalda, the coast is made predominantly of sandy inlets and cliffs. Bacino di Acquatina, Frigole, and San Cataldo are also excellent places to base your day trips from Brindisi. Finally, one of the loveliest trips along the coast is by hiring a speedboat and then exploring the caves of Salento. Located between Torre dell Orso and Santa Maria di Leuca, the coast of Salento offers numerous sandy coves with a shallow seabed. As a backdrop, the Mediterranean maquis and pinewoods create a real paradise, accessible only to those with a boat.

The most spectacular destinations you can reach from Brindisi are Croatia, Greece, the coasts of Montenegro, and Albania. In this case, we recommend you hire a sailboat with a skipper on board for ideal safety and comfort.
