On the north side of the island, you will find more pebbly beaches. This is also where the large bay of Naoussa is located. Naoussa is situated in the northeastern corner and is a very popular place that almost feels like a pristine fishing village. It has a wonderful atmosphere, amazing ouzeri, and traditional tavernas. It also hosts a Pirate Festival every 23rd of August, celebrating the victory of the locals from pirate invasions that were a continuous threat in the Aegean Sea.
