Euboea is the second-largest island in Greece, its central region is connected to the mainland by Chalkida’s bridge. One thing that stands out in Chalkida among its enduring buildings is its tides. The sea currents in the Evripus Channel continue to change direction every six hours. They form whirlpools according to the phases of the moon.
