Vodice is a popular tourist destination just 10 km from Sibenik. The town of Vodice is nestled in a wide bay, which boasts several kilometers of beaches. It also has a port, which is an ideal starting point for yacht charters in central Dalmatia. Though Vodice enjoys the reputation of sailing, you will always find something to see and do in its town. There are dozens of restaurants, bustling streets, and a crowded waterfront that will fill your holidays with plenty of entertainment. Additionally, you can spend an evening in surrounding villages and towns, such as Okit, Mrdakovica, and Tribunj. Tribunj is two kilometers from Vodice and has a modern marina. There are many beautiful beaches and cycling paths, making it perfect to spend some time, away from stressful everyday life.

The town of Vodice (“small waters”) owes its name to the wells under the Parish Church. Here you can see the tradition of rural life, which depended on the two wells for drinking water, washing laundry, and other household needs. At the foot of Velika Mrdakovica, you will also see a water reservoir that collects rainwater, also used to supply the population with drinking water.

The outbreak of war between Venice and the Turks threatened towns such as Murter, Sibenik, and Vodice along the coast. The Turks settled in the settlements of Gradina, Rakitnica, and Srima. This posed a threat to Vodice from two sides. Fortunately, Vodice received help from the Dalt Dot of Zadar, a merchant ship that sailed to the harbor of Vodice, and helped the exhausted defenders. As a result, the Turkish power weakened and the normal-life pace in Vodice gradually came back. After the final retreat of the Turks, Vodice experienced an economic boom. More and more houses were built around its defensive walls, and, over time, settlements expanded, new residents came in, and different cultures came to life. Once you have strolled around the old town and taken in the traditional way of living, you have the spectacular option to rent a boat in Vodice and explore nearby islands, beautiful beaches, and secluded bays.

There are plenty of exciting ideas and excursions you can pick from with a boat charter in Vodice. Traveling along the coast, you can swim in any of the beaches that Vodice offers. Blue, Hangar, and Srima Beach are the top choices. The Blue Beach has been awarded the blue flag for its cleanliness. It also offers pleasant shade and a variety of facilities to its visitors, to ensure an active vacation. By renting a motor yacht or a speedboat, you can visit the nearby islands of Prvic and Zlarin on a half-day trip. These are peaceful islands with a number of hidden places, where visitors can preserve their privacy and enjoy an intimate stay on the beach.

You may also hire a boat in Vodice and cruise the Sibenik archipelago for a week. From the Vodice marina, you can head to Zirje, the largest island in the archipelago. Here you can taste fish dishes and specialties that are made in stone ovens. Starting from Zirje, you can head to Primosten, a charming town famous for its romantic promenade and beautiful vineyards. If you are seeking a trip with a skipper, we recommend you book a sailboat. This way you can sail to new cruising grounds in Northern Dalmatia and experience an unforgettable holiday in Vodice. If you are a larger group of 8 or more people, you can rent a catamaran and visit the exceptional national park of Krka. Really close to Vodice, you will also find Vransko Lake; this is the largest lake in Croatia, famous for its alluring beauty and peaceful ambiance. Vodice is a true miniature of all things Croatia has to offer and an ideal place where everyone can find something that they will enjoy.
