The British Virgin Islands is a British overseas territory that comprises four big islands, along with several other small islands. The four islands consist of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke. The British Islands' waters are warm throughout the year, which makes it an ideal destination; for chartering, boating trips, and other types of excursions. The destination has a diverse topography with low mountains, boulder stones, landlocked harbors, crystal clear water, and gold and white beaches. Moreover, as for the island's inhabitants, the population mostly comprises the descendants of the African slaves from the time of British rule. However, recently the immigrant number of British people on the islands has increased. Tortola is the largest island in the British Virgin Islands and the one with the most population too. It has several white sand beaches: which include the Cane Garden Bay and Smuggler's Cove. Tortola was discovered in 1492 by the well-known traveler of all time: Christopher Columbus. This rocky and volcanic island is known to be the home of the turtle-dove. Because Tortola is the largest island in the British Virgin Islands, it becomes the prime location for boat rentals, and most of the chartered adventures start and end here. Most of the boats on this island are moored at Road Town which allows travelers with the strategic point to go island-hopping with their favorite sailboat, motor yacht or catamaran of their choice.

Scuba diving in Tortola by renting a catamaran, lets you discover the beauty hidden underneath the British Virgin Islands' waters, like the colorful weeds, corals, sunken ships, and marine life. Whereas on the other hand, you can add some adventure to the trip with water sports like jet skiing by selecting a luxury motor yacht. Furthermore, you will find a lot of mesmerizing beaches here; some of the most visited beaches with restaurants, bars, and other facilities are, Smuggler's Cove, Apple Bay, Long Bay, Cane Garden Bay. However, if you want a more serene and isolated experience, you can head towards the deserted and less visited beaches like Brewers Bay, Josiah's Bay, and Lambert beach. If you desire to dine in an amazing resort restaurant, you can opt for Trellis Bay with the famous Last Resort Restaurant. From here, you can purchase almost all the essential items for your boat trip, such as scuba diving equipment, food, drinks, etc. The town has hotels too, so you can stop or stay here before your departure for the trip if you wish.

If you rent a boat in the British Virgin Islands, you cannot miss visiting Virgin Gorda. This beautiful island features serene and quiet beaches with green and lush hillsides. The central and the northern side of Virgin Gorda is dominated by hills and peaks that are generously vegetated. Many people come to the beaches here to enjoy a more peaceful and private vacation away from the public. The most famous beaches on the island for a catamaran or sailboat excursion include; Savannah Bay, Pond Bay, Devil's Bay, Mahoe Bay, and Spring Bay.

Besides, this island also has the world-famous Rosewood Little Dix Bay Resort, which Laurance S. Rockefeller designed. The resort has its own astounding beach and bay near the Spanish Town, a peaceful and serene vibe that attracts many tourists across the globe. Although the beaches and resorts are one of the main reasons to visit the Virgin Gorda Island, the Baths remain to be the most impressive hotspot on the whole island. This attraction is located on the island's southern side, where large granite boulder stones make colorful coves. It's like a maze of granite boulders in which you can swim, snorkel or just have a good time with your family. One can also visit the native villages and interact with the inhabitants and get to know their culture and history. Plus, walking on the beautiful beaches of Virgin Gorda is a whole next-level vibe.

If you prefer to sail the Caribbean on a budget, Tortola and Virgin Gorda are the two islands we recommend you to add to your itinerary. Of course, your boat trip can be crafted to your liking, you can visit Jost Van Dyke, Norman Island, Necker Island, and many more beautiful destinations in the Caribbean. BednBlue offers many available catamarans, sailboats and motor yachts that will allow you to discover these islands that reflect a true representation of nature’s extraordinary work.
