Rab is one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic, situated in the Kvarner Bay archipelago. It is separated from the mainland by the Velebit channel and sits on an oddly-shaped peninsula.  Thanks to its favorable winds and beautiful islands, it is an attractive sailing area. Legend says that the island of Rab was protected from the gods who placed it under the shelter of Mt.Kamenjak. This is where the lee of the Velebit range protects it from the Bura winds. Besides being a paradise for sea lovers, Rab has a rich history and cultural heritage. Roman city walls, Gothic and Renaissance palaces, and old streets create a special beauty. From the 3rd century BC, Rab belonged to the Roman Empire, where the emperor Octavian Augustus granted it independence. It passed under the rule of Byzantium in the Middle Ages and later became governed by Croatian rulers. The town of Rab is currently decorated by four bell towers and has well-preserved town walls. Visitors will come across delightful plazas where musical stars gather during the nights of the Rab Summer Festival. Along Komrcar Park, you will see a splendid collection of plant life through green labyrinths. This is one of the best attractions to see before your yacht trip around Rab. Once you have strolled through the town of Rab, it is time for you to rent a yacht and navigate the islands around. 

You can rent a yacht from Rab Island and explore the neighboring islands of Lopar. The small islands of Lopar have excellent opportunities for swimming and snorkeling. In this case, we recommend hiring a catamaran. Lopar is well known as ‘Sandy Paradise” and consists of Goli Otok, Grgur, Prvic, Lukovac, and Skoljic. These are small islets where you may anchor your yacht. The island of Prvic is the largest uninhabited island in Croatia and is a major nesting area for birds.
