Pula is the largest city at the tip of the Istrian Peninsula of Croatia. It is renowned for its protected harbor, which both attracts many sailing enthusiasts and is a common starting point for exploring Istria and the Kvarner islands. Besides its strategic location, it is one of the few cities in the world that features a well-preserved Amphitheatre (Arena), built in the 1st century BC. In the past, the Arena was used for gladiator fights. Today, the Arena is an important monument as well as a center of cultural events. The Arch of the Sergii, the Twin Gates, and the small Roman Theater are ancient Roman buildings that feed the rich itinerary of its three-thousand-year-old history. Like Rome, Pula sits on the seven hills. At the top of the central hill is the citadel (Kastel), home to the Historical and Maritime Museum of Istria, which chronicles all the dark periods of Pula’s history. Once you have walked through the city and acquainted yourself with the detailed history of the city, you can head to one of the most natural harbors in the Adriatic, Pula Bay. By renting a catamaran in Pula, you can cruise the indented and lengthy coast, full of bays, coves, and crystal-clear waters. 

For a day trip from Pula, you can explore the Brijuni Islands or Cape Kamenjak. They both offer excellent opportunities for swimming and snorkeling. The Cape of Kamenjak is further south along the indented shoreline and hides within the Premantura Peninsula. You will experience the joy of paddling through the stunning scenery of Kamenjak and swim in clear waters among diverse sea life. You can follow the coast to the sea caves, which open to turquoise waters and unique rock formations. 

The Brijuni islands may be combined with your excursion to Cape Kamenjak, since they are 10 kilometers south of Pula and are perfect for swimming and leisure. Since Pula has a coastline that spans over 20 km in length, you will also have the chance to swim in some beautiful beaches of the Adriatic. Ambrella Beach and Saccorgiana Beach are excellent choices, perfect for both kids and the elderly. The former is located in the tourist resort of Veredula and has been awarded the Blue Flag for its exceptional sea quality. The latter offers diverse activities and a beach bar with a great vibe. 

You can combine your catamaran adventure in Pula with the Kvarner Islands. Pula is also a great place for a two-center holiday. Many of our guests also visit the harbor and city of Rovinj, for example, or the town of Rabac, also known as the Pearl of Kvarner Gulf. Rabac is 30 nautical miles away from Pula and makes for a great day cruise. What once used to be a fishing village has now become a holiday destination with beautiful surroundings at the foot of towering slopes. Starting from Rabac, you can enjoy a two-day cruise to Cres, where you will find countless bays with hidden beaches, and a big chance to spot friendly dolphins. From Cres, you can then head to Unije Island, near Losinj, or sail to Rab Island and Pag. If you want to sail completely away from the crowds, you can arrange a catamaran charter from Pula and explore the National Kornati Park near Zadar and Sibenik. You will always find coves that are well protected from the winds, as well as capes surrounding bays with anchored buoys.
