Paphos is situated on the west coast of Cyprus, about 60 kilometers from Limassol. The city’s tourism and economic prosperity grew with the construction of Roman palaces, forts, theaters, and tombs. The Roman rule ended with the arrival of Christianity and slowly fell to the hands of Arab invaders. During the medieval period, Paphos was renamed as Salamis and for over 700 years was under the control of the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantines freed the city from the Arabs. Nevertheless, the next two hundred years marked a period of subsequent Venetian control. Arriving in the 20th century, Paphos was nothing more than a coastal village.

Today, the city is divided by the main residential district, known as Ktima, and its vital port area is known as Kato Paphos. The latter contains most of the luxury hotels and restaurants for respectable guests. Near Paphos Harbour, you will find many Blue Flag beaches and a number of attractions. Although this wonderful resort is not as well renowned for its beach reputation, compared to Protaras and Ayia Napa, it certainly offers the perfect place for families to relax on a private catamaran cruise. Before you begin your sailing trip along the beautiful coastline, you can visit numerous archaeological attractions and sites.

Alykes Beach, Faros, Geroskipou, Pachyammos, Vrysoudia, and Dasoudi Beach are the most popular public beaches. A couple of kilometers further down the coast, you will find Coral Bay, one of the most well-known beaches in all of Cyprus. The horseshoe-shaped bay has crystal-calm waters and has a simple beach bar. It is great for snorkeling and relaxing, or for just soaking up the sun, from the deck of your luxury catamaran. Nearby, you will find Potima and Laourou Beach, also fantastic swimming spots.

A private catamaran cruise in Paphos may last more than just a day. You can end your route by exploring Limassol, home to the biggest port on the island. In between your 4-day charter trip, you can make a stop at Pissouri. Other favorite sailing destinations are St. George Island, Lara Beach in the Akamas Peninsula, and the Blue Lagoon of Geronisos.
